The corporation's purposes are set out in its bylaws and articles of incorporation. They include defending the Constitution, helping members and veterans and their families, improving their conditions, and supporting fraternal and social activities.
The purposes of the corporation are as provided in the bylaws and articles of incorporation and include—
upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States;
promoting health, prosperity, and scholarship among its members and their dependents and survivors through benevolent programs;
assisting veterans and their dependents and survivors through a service program established for that purpose;
improving conditions for service members, veterans, and their dependents and survivors; and
fostering fraternal and social activities among its members in recognition that cooperative action is required for the furtherance of their common interests.
