36 U.S.C. § 190303 — Purposes

The corporation’s purposes are those stated in its articles of incorporation and bylaws. They include— (1) upholding and defending the United States Constitution; (2) promoting the health, prosperity, and education of members and their dependents and survivors through benevolent programs; (3) helping veterans and their dependents and survivors through a service program created for that purpose; (4) improving conditions for retired enlisted service members, veterans, and their dependents and survivors; and (5) encouraging fraternal and social activities among members, recognizing that cooperative action is needed to advance their common interests.
