The American National Red Cross is a federally chartered body, organized as a corporation in the District of Columbia. Its official name is "The American National Red Cross," though it may do business as the "American Red Cross" anywhere. Unless a rule says otherwise, the corporation exists forever.
(a) Federal Charter. The American National Red Cross, called "the corporation" in this chapter, is a federally chartered instrumentality of the United States. It is a body corporate and politic in the District of Columbia.
(b) Name. The corporation's name is "The American National Red Cross." It may conduct its business and affairs, and present itself publicly, as the "American Red Cross" in any jurisdiction.
(c) Perpetual Existence. Unless this chapter says otherwise, the corporation exists forever — it has perpetual existence.
The American National Red Cross (in this chapter, the “corporation”) is a Federally chartered instrumentality of the United States and a body corporate and politic in the District of Columbia.
The name of the corporation is “The American National Red Cross”. The corporation may conduct its business and affairs, and otherwise hold itself out, as the “American Red Cross” in any jurisdiction.
Except as otherwise provided, the corporation has perpetual existence.
