The Marshal of the Supreme Court may issue regulations, with the Chief Justice’s approval, to protect the Supreme Court Building and grounds and maintain order. The regulations must be posted and made reasonably available in writing.
(a) Authority of the Marshal. In addition to subchapter IV’s restrictions and requirements, the Marshal may issue regulations approved by the Chief Justice that are needed for (1) adequate protection of the Supreme Court Building, grounds, people, and property there; and (2) suitable order and decorum in the Building and grounds. (b) Posting requirement. Every regulation under this section must be posted in a public place at the Building and made reasonably available to the public in writing.
In addition to the restrictions and requirements specified in subchapter IV, the Marshal of the Supreme Court may prescribe regulations, approved by the Chief Justice of the United States, that are necessary for—
the adequate protection of the Supreme Court Building and grounds and of individuals and property in the Building and grounds; and
the maintenance of suitable order and decorum within the Building and grounds.
All regulations prescribed under this section shall be posted in a public place at the Building and shall be made reasonably available to the public in writing.
