With the President’s approval, the Treasury Secretary may issue regulations needed to carry out this chapter. The Secretary may require shipment and replacement claimants to make declarations or provide necessary information.
(a) General authority. With the President’s approval, the Treasury Secretary may issue regulations necessary to perform the Secretary’s duties and use the Secretary’s powers under this chapter. (b) Information. To do that, the Secretary may require a person shipping valuables* or claiming replacement* to make a declaration or provide other information the Secretary considers necessary.
With the approval of the President, the Secretary of the Treasury may prescribe regulations necessary to carry out the duties and powers vested in the Secretary under this chapter.
To carry out subsection (a), the Secretary may require a person making a shipment* of valuables* or a claim for replacement* to make a declaration or to provide other information the Secretary considers necessary.
