The Director of the National Institute on Aging must conduct education and information activities about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias for public-safety and public-transportation personnel. The activities must improve how those personnel respond to people they encounter at work.
The Director* of the National Institute on Aging, through centers supported under section 285e–2 of this title , training academies, and continuing education programs, must conduct education and information dissemination activities concerning Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias for personnel involved in ensuring the public safety and providing public transportation. Such activities must be designed to enhance the ability of such personnel to respond appropriately to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias whom such personnel may encounter in the course of their employment.
