The Director must appoint a senior official as Chief of Research Security. This person's main job is managing the Research Security and Policy office. That office was created under section 19031 of this title.
The Director* must appoint a senior agency official within the Office of the Director to serve as Chief of Research Security. This person's main responsibility is to manage the Research Security and Policy office that section 19031 of this title creates.
The Director* shall appoint a senior agency official within the Office of the Director as a Chief of Research Security, whose primary responsibility shall be to manage the office established under section 19031 of this title.
