42 U.S.C. § 19192 — Purpose

This part of the law exists to help people understand more about what causes sex-based and sexual harassment, and what its effects are. This builds on the findings in the 2018 National Academies report called "Sexual Harassment of Women: Climate, Culture, and Consequences in Academic Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine." The part also aims to push forward evidence-based approaches — methods backed by research — that reduce how often this harassment happens and lessen the harm it causes.
