Money appropriated to carry out this chapter can't be spent in any way that conflicts with the Assisted Suicide Funding Restriction Act of 1997. That earlier law limits federal funding for assisted suicide, euthanasia, and mercy killing.
Appropriations for carrying out the purposes of this chapter shall not be used in a manner inconsistent with the Assisted Suicide Funding Restriction Act of 1997 [42 U.S.C. 14401 et seq.].
