42 U.S.C. § 5189d — Case management services

The President may provide case-management services, including financial assistance, to State^* or local government^* agencies or qualified private organizations that provide those services. The services help major-disaster victims identify and address needs that have not been met.

(a) In general. The President may provide the services and financial assistance described above through the listed agencies or organizations.

(b) Training. Each State or local government agency, or qualified private organization, providing the case-management services described in subsection (a) must ensure that every person providing those services to major-disaster victims—including people working for nonprofit partners and recovery organizations—is properly trained to address major-disaster impacts in communities and in people with socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

This section does not define “case management services,” “qualified private organization,” “major disaster,” “unmet needs,” or “socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.”
