44 U.S.C. § 2703 — Functions of the Committee

The Committee must—(1) review how the records of Congress are managed and preserved; (2) report to and advise Congress and the Archivist of the United States about that management and preservation; and (3)(A) by December 31, 1991, conduct a study and submit a report to Congress about (i) the effect that transferring records of the National Archives and Records Administration from facilities in Washington, D.C., to any location outside Washington, D.C., will have on managing and preserving the records of Congress, and (ii) the 5-year plan for managing and preserving the records of Congress; and (B) by December 31, 1995, conduct a study updating the report submitted under subparagraph (A)(ii), and submit a report to Congress.
