The Attorney General can arbitrate, compromise, or settle a claim brought under this chapter. This power applies once a civil lawsuit based on that claim has already started.
This is a single, narrow rule. The Attorney General has the power to arbitrate, compromise, or settle a claim made under this chapter. That power only applies after a civil lawsuit based on the claim has already been filed — it covers claims already in litigation, not before.
The Attorney General may arbitrate, compromise, or settle a claim under this chapter if a civil action based on the claim has been commenced.
