When a documented vessel enters a U.S. port, its master must show its certificate of documentation. Without that certificate, the vessel loses the privileges of a documented vessel.
When a vessel* documented under chapter 121 of this title enters a U.S. port, the master or other person in charge must produce the vessel's certificate of documentation to the customs officer at the place of entry. If that certificate is not produced, the vessel does not get the privileges that come with being a documented vessel*.
On entry of a vessel* documented under chapter 121 of this title, the master or other individual in charge of the vessel shall produce the certificate of documentation to the customs officer at the place where the vessel is entered. If the certificate is not produced, the vessel is not entitled to the privileges of a documented vessel*.
