49 U.S.C. § 44814 — ASSUREd Safe credentialing authority

(a) Within six months after this section’s enactment, the FAA Administrator must establish a credentialing authority for the FAA’s ASSUREd Safe program under the Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft^* Systems. (b) ASSUREd Safe must offer services throughout the United States and to United States allies and partners, including (1) online and in-person standards, education, and testing for first responders using unmanned aircraft systems in emergencies and disaster management; (2) uniform communication, operating, and reporting standards for civilian, military, and international allies and partners; and (3) other relevant standards development for operating unmanned aircraft systems, as the Administrator considers appropriate. (c) Coordination. The Administrator must ensure that the Center coordinates with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and FEMA when establishing ASSUREd Safe and providing its services.
