For this subchapter, an "employee" is a career Senior Executive Service appointee meeting one of two service conditions. "Suspension" has the meaning given in section 7501(2).
For this subchapter: (1) "employee" means a career appointee in the Senior Executive Service who (A) completed the probationary period under section 3393(d), or (B) was covered by subchapter II of this chapter immediately before appointment to the Senior Executive Service; and (2) "suspension" has the meaning in section 7501(2).
For the purpose of this subchapter—
“employee” means a career appointee in the Senior Executive Service who—
has completed the probationary period prescribed under section 3393(d) of this title; or
was covered by the provisions of subchapter II of this chapter immediately before appointment to the Senior Executive Service; and
“suspension” has the meaning set forth in section 7501(2) of this title.
