The Executive Director must make payments and transfers as elected under sections 8433 or 8434(b). Section 8435's rules apply too, when relevant. Any election, change, or annuity-date modification must be written and filed with the Executive Director.
(a) The Executive Director* must make, or arrange for, payments and transfers according to an employee's or Member's election under section 8433 or 8434(b), and, where it applies, must follow section 8435's spousal-protection rules too.
(b) Any election, change of election, or change to a deferred annuity's start date made under this subchapter must be in writing, and must be filed with the Executive Director* following the Executive Director's regulations.
The Executive Director* shall make or provide for payments and transfers in accordance with an election of an employee* or Member* under section 8433 or 8434(b) of this title or, if applicable, in accordance with section 8435 of this title.
Any election, change of election, or modification of a deferred annuity commencement date made under this subchapter shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Executive Director* in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Executive Director.
