If a provision of this subchapter is invalid, the rest of the subchapter generally remains effective. The same applies to applying that provision to other people or circumstances.
If a court holds a provision of this subchapter, or its application to a person or circumstance, invalid, that invalidation does not affect the rest of the subchapter or applying the provision to other people who are not similarly situated or to other circumstances.
If any provision of this subchapter, or the application of such provision to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of this subchapter and the application of such provision to other persons not similarly situated or to other circumstances shall not be affected by such invalidation.
