This section is a savings clause for park concessions contracts. It does not change contracts already awarded under subchapter II. It also preserves the Park Service's power to make 1998-Act concessions contracts, including leaseholder surrender interest.
This section is a savings provision. It makes sure nothing in this subchapter changes existing rules.
It does not modify the terms or conditions of any concessions contracts awarded under subchapter II. Those contracts stay as they are.
It also does not limit the National Park Service's ability to enter into concessions contracts under the National Park Service* Concessions Management Improvement Act of 1998. That law is title IV of Public Law 105-391. This includes the National Park Service's ability to use leaseholder surrender interest as part of those contracts.
Nothing in this subchapter shall modify the terms or conditions of any concessions contracts awarded under subchapter II or the ability of the National Park Service* to enter into concessions contracts under the National Park Service Concessions Management Improvement Act of 1998 (title IV of Public Law 105–391) including the use of leaseholder surrender interest.
