This section lets the Secretary contract for visitor services. The Secretary can arrange services or accommodations for the public in System units through Interior Department contracts. These contracts can skip the normal bidding process in section 6101 of title 41, at Secretary-approved rates.
The Secretary* can contract for services or other accommodations provided to the public in System* units. These are handled under contract with the Department of the Interior, as needed to run the Service*. Rates must be approved by the Secretary, using the rates set for providing the same services or accommodations to the federal government. These contracts do not have to follow the normal bidding process in section 6101 of title 41.
The Secretary* may contract for services or other accommodations provided in System* units for the public under contract with the Department of the Interior, as may be required in the administration of the Service*, at rates approved by the Secretary for the furnishing of those services or accommodations to the Federal Government and without compliance with section 6101 of title 41.
