54 U.S.C. § 104903 — Care, removal, and burial of indigents

This section lets the Secretary help indigent people in parks. The Secretary can temporarily care for and remove indigents using System unit funds. This help does not cover transportation more than 50 miles from the System unit.
The Secretary* can use money appropriated for general System unit* expenses to temporarily care for indigents and remove them from a System* unit. If an indigent dies, the Secretary can arrange burial in System units not under local jurisdiction for this purpose. This section does not authorize moving indigents, or their remains, more than 50 miles from the System unit.
The Secretary* may provide, out of amounts appropriated for the general expenses of System* units, for the temporary care and removal from a System unit* of indigents, and in case of death to provide for their burial in System units not under local jurisdiction for these purposes. This section does not authorize transportation of indigents or deceased for a distance of more than 50 miles from the System unit.
