54 U.S.C. § 104908 — Bows in parks

(a) Definition of Not Ready for Immediate Use.— This term means two things. (1) For a bow or crossbow, the arrows must be secured or stowed in a quiver or other carrying case. (2) For a crossbow specifically, it must also be uncocked.

(b) Vehicular Transportation Authorized.— The Director^* cannot make or enforce a regulation banning someone from transporting bows and crossbows that are “not ready for immediate use” across a System unit^* inside their vehicle. This protection applies if three things are true: (1) the person is not otherwise barred by law from having the bows or crossbows; (2) the bows or crossbows stay inside the vehicle the whole time they are transported across System^* land; and (3) having the bows or crossbows follows the law of the state where the System unit sits.
