54 U.S.C. § 200508 — Coordination of program

The Secretary must— (1) coordinate the urban park and recreation recovery program with the overall urban recovery effort, and cooperate as fully as possible with other federal agencies and with state agencies that run programs affecting urban areas — including housing, urban development, natural resources management, employment, transportation, community services, and volunteer action; (2) encourage state agencies and local applicants to coordinate the program with each other as much as possible; and (3) require that local applicants include ways for community and neighborhood residents to take part, and for public and private groups to coordinate on recovery planning and choosing projects.
