Anyone who gets assistance under this program must keep records the Secretary requires. These records must show the amount and disposition of project undertakings and the amount and nature of the part of the project cost supplied by other sources. The Secretary and the Comptroller General can access relevant records to audit and examine them.
(a) In General.— A recipient of assistance under this chapter must keep the records the Secretary* requires, including—
(1) records that disclose— (A) the amount and disposition of project undertakings connected with assistance given or used under this chapter; and (B) the amount and nature of the portion of the cost of the project or undertaking supplied by other sources; and
(2) any other records that will help make an effective audit.
(b) Access.— The Secretary and the Comptroller General must have access, for audit and examination, to any of the recipient's records that are relevant to assistance received under this chapter.
A recipient of assistance under this chapter shall keep such records as the Secretary* shall prescribe, including—
records that disclose—
the amount and disposition of project undertakings in connection with which assistance under this chapter is given or used; and
the amount and nature of the portion of the cost of the project or undertaking that is supplied by other sources; and
such other records as will facilitate an effective audit.
The Secretary and the Comptroller General shall have access for the purpose of audit and examination to any records of the recipient that are pertinent to assistance received under this chapter.
