7 U.S.C. § 197a — Production contracts

(a) Right of contract producers to cancel production contracts: (1) A poultry grower or swine production contract grower may cancel a poultry growing arrangement or swine production contract by mailing a cancellation notice to the live poultry dealer or swine contractor. This must happen by the later of: (A) 3 business days after the poultry growing arrangement or swine production contract was signed; or (B) any cancellation date named in the arrangement or contract itself. (2) The poultry growing arrangement or swine production contract must clearly disclose: (A) the grower's right to cancel it; (B) how the grower may cancel it; and (C) the deadline for canceling it. (b) Required disclosure of additional capital investments in production contracts: (1) A poultry growing arrangement or swine production contract must contain, on its first page, a statement titled "Additional Capital Investments Disclosure Statement," which must clearly state that additional large capital investments may be required of the grower during the contract's term. (2) This requirement applies to any poultry growing arrangement or swine production contract entered into, amended, altered, modified, renewed, or extended after this section became law.
