16 U.S.C. § 559b — Prevention of manufacture, etc., of marijuana and other controlled substances

(a) Purpose. Sections 559b through 559f of this title authorize the Secretary of Agriculture, called the “Secretary” in those sections, to take actions needed in connection with administering and using the National Forest System to prevent the manufacture, distribution, or dispensing of marijuana and other controlled substances. This section does not define “controlled substances.”

(b) Law-enforcement authority. Nothing in sections 559b through 559f reduces the Forest Service’s law-enforcement authority in any way.

(c) Definitions. In sections 559b through 559f, “manufacture,” “dispense,” and “distribute” have the meanings given to those terms in section 802 of title 21. This section does not define those terms itself.
