42 U.S.C. § 8257 — Interagency Energy Management Task Force

(a) In general — To help the interagency committee set up under section 7266 coordinate federal energy conservation work, and to share federal energy-saving experience with people outside the government, the Secretary^* must create an Interagency Energy Management Task Force (called the "Task Force").

(b) Members — The Task Force is made up of the chief energy managers from the agencies that sit on the section 7266 committee.

(c) Duties — The Task Force must meet whenever the Secretary asks, but at least twice a year, to (1) check how well agencies are doing at saving energy; (2) collect and share information with agencies, states, local governments, and the public on good survey methods, new efficiency approaches, incentive programs made under section 8256, new contracting methods made under subchapter VII, cogeneration and renewable resources, and other energy-saving technologies; (3) coordinate the energy surveys agencies run; (4) come up with new options for saving energy; (5) report to the section 7266 committee; and (6) review, as often as needed, the rules on building temperature settings, to see if changes would help meet the goals in section 8253.
