The Secretary of the Air Force sets rules placing every Space Force member into one duty status. The three statuses are active, inactive, and retired.
Under regulations the Secretary of the Air Force writes, every member of the Space Force must be placed into one of three duty statuses: (1) Space Force active status*. (2) Space Force inactive status*. (3) Space Force retired status*.
Under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Air Force, each member of the Space Force shall be placed in one of the following duty statuses:
Space Force active status*.
Space Force inactive status*.
Space Force retired status*.
