This section requires the designated Army officer to provide rations, camp equipment, and transportation to Navy or Marine detachments on shore duty with Army troops.
When a Navy or Marine Corps detachment is on shore duty cooperating with Army* troops, the Army officer* designated by the Secretary of the Army must, when the detachment’s commanding Navy or Marine Corps officer requests it, issue rations and camp equipment and provide transportation.
While any detachment of the Navy or Marine Corps is on shore duty in cooperation with troops of the Army*, the officer* of the Army designated by the Secretary of the Army shall, upon the requisition of the officer of the Navy or Marine Corps in command of the detachment, issue rations and camp equipment, and furnish transportation, to that detachment.
