The Navy can sell uniforms and equipment at cost. This applies to officers and midshipmen of the naval service. It also applies to Coast Guard officers when the Coast Guard operates as part of the Navy.
Under regulations set by the Secretary of the Navy, the United States must sell uniforms, accouterments, and equipment at cost to naval service officers and midshipmen. When the Coast Guard is operating as part of the Navy, this also applies to Coast Guard officers.
Under such regulations as the Secretary of the Navy prescribes, uniforms, accouterments, and equipment shall be sold by the United States at cost to officers and midshipmen of the naval service and, when the Coast Guard is operating as a service in the Navy, to officers of the Coast Guard.
