A non-Regular Air Force commissioned officer on active duty receives the rights, privileges, and benefits of a Reserve officer with the same reserve grade, length of service, and active-duty reserve-grade status.
A commissioned Air Force officer* who is not in the Regular Air Force and is on active duty* in a commissioned grade* has the rights, privileges, and legal benefits of an Air Force Reserve commissioned officer* (1) whose reserve grade matches the grade in which the non-Regular officer serves, (2) who has the same length of service, and (3) who is on active duty in that reserve grade.
A commissioned officer* of the Air Force, other than of the Regular Air Force, who is on active duty* in any commissioned grade* has the rights and privileges, and is entitled to the benefits, provided by law for a commissioned officer* of the Air Force Reserve—
whose reserve grade is that in which the officer not of the Regular Air Force is serving;
who has the same length of service as the officer not of the Regular Air Force; and
who is on active duty in his reserve grade.
