The President may set the contents and amounts of Air Force and Space Force rations. Active-duty enlisted members get one ration each day, and hospitals must provide certain foods for patients under approved rules.
(a) The President may set the components and quantities of Air Force and Space Force rations. If the President believes economy or members' health and comfort require it, the President may authorize equivalent items instead of the set components.
(b) An enlisted Air Force or Space Force member on active duty* is entitled to one ration each day. An emergency ration, when issued, is additional to the regular ration.
(c) Under regulations approved by the Secretary, hospitals must provide fresh or preserved fruit, milk, butter, and eggs needed for patients' proper diets.
The President may prescribe the components, and the quantities thereof, of the Air Force ration and the Space Force ration. He may direct the issue of equivalent articles in place of the prescribed components whenever, in his opinion, economy and the health and comfort of the members of the Air Force or the Space Force so require.
An enlisted member* of the Air Force or the Space Force on active duty* is entitled to one ration daily. The emergency ration, when issued, is in addition to the regular ration.
Fresh or preserved fruits, milk, butter, and eggs necessary for the proper diet of the sick in hospitals shall be provided under regulations approved by the Secretary.
