15 U.S.C. § 1176 — Penalties

This section authorizes a civil penalty of up to $100 for violating the chapter or a regulation or permit issued under it. The penalty may be imposed only after notice and an opportunity for a hearing.
Whoever violates any of the provisions of sections 1172, 1173, 1174, or 1175 of this title must be fined no over $5,000 or imprisoned no over two years, or both.
Whoever violates any of the provisions of sections 1172, 1173, 1174, or 1175 of this title shall be fined not more than $5,000 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
