It is a misdemeanor to knowingly obtain or try to obtain the Golden Gate Bridge toll exemption or an authorization without being entitled to it. It is also a misdemeanor to knowingly sign or issue an authorization falsely certifying that the exemption exists.
A person who knowingly obtains or tries to obtain the toll exemption provided by sections 1005 through 1007, or an authorization described in section 1006, while knowing the person is not entitled to it, commits a misdemeanor. A person who knowingly signs or issues such an authorization while falsely certifying that the exemption exists also commits a misdemeanor. On conviction, the person may be fined up to $100, imprisoned for up to 10 days, or both.
Whoever secures or attempts to secure the exemption from toll provided for in sections 1005 to 1007 of this title or an authorization referred to in section 1006 of this title, knowing that he is not entitled thereto, and whoever signs or issues any such authorization certifying to such right of exemption, knowing that such right does not exist, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than ten days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
