When the President directs them to, federal departments and bureaus must give the Commission records, papers, and information they have. This applies to information about any corporation covered by this subchapter's rules. The President can also order officials and employees to be temporarily assigned to help the Commission.
This section requires federal departments and bureaus to cooperate with the Commission, but only when the President directs them to. When so directed, they must give the Commission, upon its request, all records, papers, and information in their possession that relate to any corporation covered by this subchapter. The President may also direct these departments and bureaus to detail — meaning temporarily assign — officials and employees to help the Commission, from time to time.
The several departments and bureaus of the Government when directed by the President shall furnish the Commission, upon its request, all records, papers, and information in their possession relating to any corporation subject to any of the provisions of this subchapter, and shall detail from time to time such officials and employees to the Commission as he may direct.
