16 U.S.C. § 271d — Administration, protection, and development

The Secretary of the Interior is responsible for administering, protecting, and developing Canyonlands National Park. The Secretary must follow the rules set out elsewhere in this subchapter — the law that created the park. The Secretary must also follow the Act of August 25, 1916 — the law that established the National Park Service, found at 16 U.S.C. § 1 and the sections after it — including any changes and additions made to that 1916 law since then. In short, Canyonlands is run the same general way as other national parks, under the same foundational National Park Service law, on top of whatever specific rules apply to Canyonlands itself.
