The Secretary must run the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park under the same two core laws that govern national parks generally: the 1916 Act creating the Park Service and the 1935 historic-sites Act, both as later amended.
This section tells the Secretary how to manage the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park. Two laws govern it. The first is the Act approved August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535; 16 U.S.C. 1 et seq.) — the law that created the National Park Service — along with everything that has since amended and added to it. The second is the Act approved August 21, 1935 (49 Stat. 666; 16 U.S.C. 461 et seq.), also as amended since it was passed.
The Secretary shall administer the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in accordance with the Act approved August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535; 16 U.S.C. 1 et seq.),1 as amended and supplemented, and the Act approved August 21, 1935 (49 Stat. 666; 16 U.S.C. 461 et seq.),1 as amended.
