16 U.S.C. § 441b — Construction of highway by State of South Dakota

This section is a condition tied to creating Badlands National Park (established in section 441). The park's establishment depends on South Dakota building a specific highway first, and that highway must satisfy the Secretary of the Interior. The highway must start at the town limits of Interior, South Dakota. From there, it goes northwest, up to and over Big Foot Pass, and through the area known as The Pinnacles. From there, it continues west to Sage Creek. The whole highway is about thirty miles long. Only once South Dakota builds this highway to the Secretary's satisfaction can the park actually be established, as described in section 441.
