16 U.S.C. § 441e–1 — Change in name of Badlands National Monument

This is a short renaming provision. The area used to be called the "Badlands National Monument." It was established by a Presidential Proclamation dated January 25, 1939, which is officially recorded at 53 Stat. 2521. From now on, this section says, that area must be known instead as the "Badlands National Park." This lines up the monument's name with the park established and revised in the sections around it (sections 441 and following), so that the same protected area goes by one consistent name. The change is a naming update only — it does not by itself alter the park's boundaries, management, or legal status beyond the name itself. Other laws and documents that still refer to the old "Badlands National Monument" name are understood to mean this same area under its new name.
