submitted 61 years ago by Pub. L. 89-195 to r/title-16-CONSERVATION · 110 words · no verdicts yet

in plain englishAI-generated · not legal advice

Once enough Assateague land is owned by the U.S., the Secretary establishes the seashore. He announces this with a notice published in the Federal Register. That notice includes a refined description or map of the boundaries.

This section has no lettered subsections. When the Secretary decides that enough land, water, or interests in them — within the area shown on the map in section 459f — are owned or acquired by the United States to form a workable administrative unit, he must declare Assateague Island National Seashore established, by publishing notice in the Federal Register. That notice must contain whatever refined boundary description or map the Secretary thinks is useful, and the seashore's outer boundaries must match, as closely as practical, the area described in section 459f.

Such notice shall contain a refined description or map of the boundaries of the seashore as the Secretary may find desirable, and the exterior boundaries shall encompass an area as nearly as practicable identical to the area described in section 459f of this title.
