16 U.S.C. § 460nnn–11 — Designation of Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area

(a) Designation. The Secretary must designate the Steens Mountain Cooperative Management and Protection Area. It covers about 425,550 acres of federal land in Harney County, Oregon, near Steens Mountain, as generally shown on the map titled "Steens Mountain Boundary Map," dated September 18, 2000. (b) Contents of map. Besides the area's overall boundary, that same map also shows the general boundaries of three smaller areas inside it: (1) the no-livestock-grazing area described in section 460nnn–23(e); (2) the mineral withdrawal area designated by part D; and (3) the wildlands juniper management area set up by part E.
