16 U.S.C. § 7707 — Cooperation in carrying out Convention

(a) Federal and State^* agencies; private institutions and organizations. The Secretary^* may cooperate with any Federal agency, any public or private institution or organization in the United States or abroad, and, through the Secretary of State, an authorized official of any country that is party to the North Pacific Fisheries Convention^*, to carry out this chapter. (b) Scientific and other programs; facilities and personnel. At the Secretary's request, each Federal agency may help conduct scientific or other programs and provide facilities and personnel to help the Commission^* perform its Convention duties. (c) Sanctioned fishing operations and biological experiments. Nothing in this chapter or any State law prevents the Secretary or Commission from (1) conducting or authorizing fishing operations and biological experiments at any time for scientific investigation, or (2) performing other duties required by the Convention. (d) State jurisdiction not affected. This chapter does not reduce or enlarge any State's jurisdiction in the United States territorial sea.
