16 U.S.C. § 7707 — Cooperation in carrying out Convention

(a) Federal and State agencies; private institutions and organizations — The Secretary may work with any federal agency, any public or private group inside or outside the United States, and — through the Secretary of State — an authorized official of any other government that is party to the North Pacific Fisheries Convention, to carry out duties under this chapter. (b) Scientific and other programs; facilities and personnel — At the Secretary's request, any federal agency may help run scientific and other programs, and provide facilities and personnel, to help the Commission carry out its duties under the North Pacific Fisheries Convention. (c) Sanctioned fishing operations and biological experiments — Nothing in this chapter, or in the laws of any state, stops the Secretary or the Commission from conducting or authorizing fishing operations and biological experiments at any time for scientific investigation, or from carrying out any other duty prescribed by the North Pacific Fisheries Convention. (d) State jurisdiction not affected — Nothing in this chapter changes — makes bigger or smaller — any state's jurisdiction in its own territorial sea.
