The Chaplain of the Senate may appoint employees and set their compensation, subject to a yearly gross-compensation limit.
The Chaplain of the Senate may appoint and fix the compensation of that employees as he deems appropriate, except that the amount which can be paid for any fiscal year as gross compensation for personnel in that Office for any fiscal year must not exceed $147,000.
