The corporation is based on allegiance to the United States, obedience to its Constitution and laws, civil liberty, and free institutions. It honors decorated heroic service, supports members and the Armed Forces, helps needy members and their families, and encourages patriotic history studies.
(a) Principles.—The corporation is based on patriotic allegiance to the United States, faithfulness to the Constitution and laws, protection of civil liberty, and permanence of free institutions. (b) Purposes.—The corporation’s purposes are to (1) honor the memories of valiant armed deeds represented by the Congressional Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, and Air Force Cross; (2) promote true fellowship among members; (3) advance the best interests of United States Armed Forces members; (4) provide all possible relief to needy members and their widows and children; and (5) encourage young people’s patriotism by encouraging study of the Nation’s patriotic, military, and naval history.
The principles underlying the corporation are patriotic allegiance to the United States of America, fidelity to the constitution and laws of the United States, the security of civil liberty, and the permanence of free institutions.
The purposes of the corporation are—
to cherish the memories of the valiant deeds in arms for which the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Navy Cross, and the Air Force Cross are the insignia;
to promote true fellowship among its members;
to advance the best interests of members of the Armed Forces of the United States of America;
to extend all possible relief to needy members of the corporation and their widows and children; and
to stimulate patriotism in the minds of our youth by encouraging the study of the patriotic, military, and naval history of our Nation.
