36 U.S.C. § 138 — Save Your Vision Week

This section asks — but does not require — the President to issue a proclamation every year about protecting people's vision. (1) The proclamation would name the first week in March as Save Your Vision Week. (2) It would invite governors and mayors of state and local governments to also proclaim the first week in March as Save Your Vision Week. (3) It would invite the media, health care professions, and other agencies and individuals working on vision improvement to unite during that week in public activities. The goal is to convince Americans how important good vision is, both to their own welfare and to the country's welfare. (4) It would urge the media, health care professions, and other agencies and individuals to support programs that improve and protect the vision of people in the United States.
