36 U.S.C. § 170303 — Purposes

The corporation's purposes, set out in its articles of incorporation, include: (1) upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States; (2) gathering, preserving, and encouraging the study of history, records, and mementos about "The Day of Infamy, 7 December 1941" — especially the memories and records of patriotic service by the Pearl Harbor survivors and those who did not survive; (3) protecting from neglect the graves, past and future, of those who served at Pearl Harbor that day; (4) pushing communities and local governments to take more interest in the nation's affairs and future, to keep the Nation alert; (5) fighting constantly for national security, to protect the United States from enemies both inside and outside its borders; (6) preserving the American way of life and promoting the spirit and practice of Americanism; and (7) building love of country and flag, and promoting sound minds and bodies in the nation's youth.
