This law states the purposes of the Gold Star Wives corporation. It must operate as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization for public-interest goals. Its articles of incorporation may add further purposes if they don't conflict.
The corporation's purposes are:
(1) to operate in the public interest, as a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization, solely for patriotic, charitable, literary, educational, scientific, or civic improvement purposes; and
(2) whatever other purposes its articles of incorporation state, as long as those don't conflict with the purposes in (1).
The purposes of the corporation are—
to operate in the public interest, as a nonpartisan and nonprofit organization, solely for patriotic, charitable, literary, educational, scientific, or civic improvement purposes; and
the purposes stated in its articles of incorporation that are not inconsistent with the purposes described in clause (1) of this section.
