This section defines two terms for recreational boating safety programs. An eligible state has a boating safety program the Secretary has accepted.
(1) "Eligible State*" means a state whose recreational boating safety program the Secretary has accepted. (2) "State recreational boating safety program" means education, assistance, and enforcement work aimed at preventing, reducing, and reporting maritime accidents in recreational boating.
In this chapter:
The term “eligible State” means a State that has a State recreational boating safety program accepted by the Secretary.
The term “State recreational boating safety program” means education, assistance, and enforcement activities conducted for maritime casualty prevention, reduction, and reporting for recreational boating.
