Other federal agencies dealing with space may share staff or data with NASA. They do this if the Administrator asks in writing. Agencies can also simply choose to cooperate with NASA.
Any federal department, agency, or other body that deals with, or has authority over, space matters (1) may, if the Administrator* asks in writing, provide personnel (only with their consent, and without hurting their job status), services, or facilities the Administrator needs for this chapter, paid back or not; (2) may, if asked in writing, share any data or information the Administrator needs for this chapter; and (3) may cooperate with the Administration*.
Each department, agency, or other instrumentality of the Federal Government that is engaged in or concerned with, or that has authority over, matters relating to space—
may, upon a written request from the Administrator*, make available, on a reimbursable basis or otherwise, any personnel (with their consent and without prejudice to their position and rating), service, or facility which the Administrator considers necessary to carry out any provision of this chapter;
may, upon a written request from the Administrator, furnish any available data or other information which the Administrator considers necessary to carry out any provision of this chapter; and
may cooperate with the Administration*.
