The Secretary must check the condition of all field employee housing, using information that already exists. The Secretary must then rank each housing unit by how badly it needs repair, replacement, or new construction.
The Secretary* must do two things. (1) Complete a condition assessment of all field employee* housing. This must cover the housing's physical condition and whether it's necessary and suitable for the Service's mission, using information that already exists. (2) Develop a Service*-wide priority list, organized by structure, that identifies which housing units need repair, rehabilitation, replacement, or new construction the most.
The Secretary* shall—
complete a condition assessment for all field employee* housing, including the physical condition of the housing and the necessity and suitability of the housing for carrying out the mission of the Service*, using existing information; and
develop a Service-wide priority listing, by structure, identifying the units in greatest need for repair, rehabilitation, replacement, or initial construction.
