7 U.S.C. § 309 — Land grants in the State of North Dakota

(a) Expenses. Even though section 303 of this title normally applies, North Dakota manages the land it was granted under section 301 — including any money made from the land — according to this section instead. (b) Disposition of proceeds. Even though section 304 normally applies, for any trust fund holding money from selling this land, North Dakota must: put all money the trust fund earns back into that trust fund; subtract the cost of running the trust fund from it; and manage each trust fund so it keeps its purchasing power and pays out stable amounts to the people it benefits. (c) Distributions. Even though section 304 normally applies, any payouts from these North Dakota trust funds must follow section 2 of article IX of North Dakota's state constitution. (d) Management. Even though section 305 normally applies, North Dakota manages the land granted under section 301 — including proceeds from it — according to this section.
